Original Colt 1860 Army

All serial numbers match besides the cylinder. The cylinder is still an original colt 1860 cylinder, but the serial does not match. The wedge locks the barrel in tight, but it may not be original

The matching serial numbers that can be found on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap place this at an 1863 manufacture date. H stamps are visible on the backstrap and trigger guard

The action is crisp with a tight lockup at the end of the hammer pull. Trigger drops well and seems to have excellent timing. The rifling is surprisingly good for its age with visible lands and grooves. All evidence points towards this still being shootable today but I would make that decision for yourself after inspecting it thoroughly.

This appears to have been refinished long ago with most of the finish now fading. Some of the markings have faded due to the refinish. I believe someone went through the effort of reviving this long ago to shoot it and it could easily be made to shoot again. I bought it thinking I would be the one to make it fire again but I never got around to it.

Ultimately, this original Colt 1860 Army is a piece of American history that was likely used in the American Civil War. Most of these you find online have fewer matching parts and are clearly unshootable for one reason or another. I believe that a little bit of nipple cleaning and inspection is all this would take to fire again.

Price is obo so I am negotiable, send an offer my way if youre interested.
